A Staycation at 33 Main in Lenox

After traveling to Utah for volunteer work, staying at a horrible hotel (and I mean horrible, I could write an entire blog post about how bad it was but I don't want to give them the publicity), and flying back on a red-eye I was in desperate need of a good staycation. Luckily, I had my stay at 33 Main, a quaint but luxurious inn located in Lenox, booked for a while. This charming inn was built in 1836 and has eight guest rooms, a couple of which are dog-friendly so you can travel with your furry friends! 33 Main is outfitted with owner Annie Selke's textiles and home furnishings which you are able to shop online or directly across the street in her store.

Guests are greeted with freshly baked cookies, bottled water, and a wide variety of other complimentary beverages. I arrived a little bit early and checked into my room with Fernanda who was the sweetest and most helpful person in the world. The entire inn is both elegant and tasteful making it feel like you're in a luxurious home instead of a hotel.

After exploring the inn for a little while I headed to the Annie Selke store across the street. The shop is filled with home textiles, rugs, cozy robes, jewelry, and gifts so my mom and I were able to get a little bit of early Christmas shopping done! Side note: the robes are the coziest things and if you touch one you will want it. Whether you're staying at the inn, a local, or just passing through Lenox this is a great little shop to stop in!

The inn also offers a complimentary cocktail hour with a cheese plate and local spirits from Berkshire Mountain Distillers, as well as wine in the front parlors. I arrived and was greeted by a cozy fire which was perfect for the unseasonably cold November day. I tried a little sip of the Pinot Noir which was very good but ultimately ended up mixing myself a vodka seltzer with a little bit of lime and munching on truffle cheese.

After cocktail hour, I went out to dinner with my mom. Lenox offers a wide selection of different restaurants but we ultimately settled on the Old Heritage Tavern since they had a lot of gluten-free options and we were in more of a casual and low-key mood.

When I came back to my room I decided to take a bath with the bath salt provided in the room, it had the delightful smell of fresh roses and was the perfect way to end my night. All of the products in the inn are from Farmesthetics. They are 100% natural, organic, and many contain herbs from seaside New England farms. Just so you know, all of the products are available to purchase in the shop across the street and online here if you wanted to check them out. I got out of the bath and lounged around for a bit in one of the may cozy robes in the room before heading to bed. My mattress was wicked comfy, the pillows were perfect, and my sheets were exceptionally soft so I got a great nights sleep for the first time in a couple of weeks.

In the morning I was treated to a complimentary, full gourmet breakfast. The menu changes daily. For my short stay, there were muffins (gluten-free for me), yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, and a butternut squash and onion frittata with a side of arugula and watermelon radish as well as local coffee from Six Depot in West Stockbridge. Everything was fresh and delicious. This was such a wonderful and relaxing 24 hours and I can't wait to visit again for a couple of nights and bring the dogs! For now, I'm battling a cold and preparing for Thanksgiving. There will be no new post on Thursday but I hope to be back to my regular posting schedule next Tuesday.

Special thanks to everyone at 33 Main for being such wonderful and gracious hosts!
