Adventures in Portland, OR

My friend and I spent the weekend in Portland, Oregon. We had a total blast! We spent most of the day Friday traveling but arrived in Portland in the early afternoon. We were pretty exhausted so we ended up spending Happy Hour at the hotel's bar and then just going to bed early.
We woke up pretty early the next day, headed to breakfast and spend the morning and early afternoon wandering around downtown Portland. It's definitely an interesting city full of fascinating people. We headed back to our hotel and got ready for the Nocking Point P-Town Wine Mixer, which is what we went there for. I had the best time at the wine mixer. I loved tasting all the wines and getting to chat with the winemakers. I can't currently get their wine shipped to me in Massachusetts so I was so excited to try all the wines they brought with them. We met a lot of fun people and had a lot of great wine! It was a fun bonus to meet Stephen Amell again and his buddy Drew who run Nocking Point. (For those of you who don't know Stephen Amell plays Oliver Queen on Arrow, which is one of my favorite shows.) I'm hoping they throw a party on the East Coast at one point! Here is my photo which is not the best picture of me and I look slightly terrified! Oh well...lol!
On our last day in Portland we had a red-eye flight so we had most of the day there. We rented a car and drove up to the Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, which is what they used for the exterior of The Overlook hotel in The Shining. It was so warm up there, about 63 degrees and it made me wish I knew how to snowboard. I took a bunch of photos, we had lunch and headed back. Luckily, we were able to get back right before this snow started. Our flight back was rough but I was so glad to be home!
